Happy Holidays

Wishing all my friends a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It has been a crazy month of December for me. The wood pecker attack is still on going, but I see much less of him since the plastic barrier is on the house. He came back once last week to a portion of the house that was not covered. So, now all the walls are covered. It looks awful but it's keeping me sane! We plan on removing it after the holidays. Hopefully, he has moved on now.

I also quit smoking and it has been very very difficult. However, it's day 20 and I am still smoke free and I managed to survive the bird stress, the hectic holidays, constant snow storms, ice rain, and our leaking window on Christmas eve...... I am just going one day at a time! It's the hardest thing I have ever done.

So my dear friends, see you all back in the New Year! Hopefully I will have some paintings finished and new ideas for 2009.

All my best wishes to you all, and I look forward to seeing your artistic endeavours for 2009!

Stress Update

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the recent comments on my blog about my nasty woodpecker. My friend appeared again early Friday morning and this time at the back of the house. I think he moved to the back now because of all the loud Xmas decorations and Santas all over the house. Anyways I went outside and was right next to him and I think I scared the living day lights out of him. I was even shaking in my boots. So on Friday my husband went to a Hunting shop and got some coyote urine. We sprayed it all over the house on late Friday and we waited for him all weekend. But he did not show. Perhaps this is working, but I cant be sure. I am still afraid to leave the house in case he comes and pays me a visit again. Leaving the house unattended is not worth the damage this bugger can do.

So I had the pest control here the other day and we have decided to wrap the entire house with a plastic barrier. Gosh man, I cant believe it has come to this. I wonder what the neighbours will think....LOL. Well, if the plastic works and he moves on, it will be worth the money and embarrasment. Wish me luck. I still have not had a chance to work on any paintings.
