Hi Everyone, A fast sketch and idea this morning for my next painting. I am going to take a break from buildings and do a nice floral. This one is all about the majestic national flower of beautiful South Africa. The King Protea.
I had troubles to decide on the background colour. I initially wanted the colours of the African savannah plains would be nice, in gold, oranges and yellow orchres (like my my orchid painting idid some time ago) so I went with that idea.
Here in photos shop with more orange for me to see
But now I think it might be too much with the pot..unless I change the pot colours. I did some tweaking in Face book and here is the same painting with blue tones, aqua, powder blue and a purplish blue tone. Hmmm..Either Acqua or powered blue

A Collage of My Cinque Terre Series to Date. Will have to paint the village of Corniglia now which is located in the middle of the Cinque Terre and lays on a small cape, 100 meters above the sea. It is the only town without access from the sea.
Welcome to my Studio Blog! See what's been happening in my studio and on my travels. Exuberantly and cheerfully is the way I like to live and the way I like to paint. I love to travel and meet new people and many of my paintings are based on my travels. I love to create cheerful, bright, stylized paintings. I work from my imagination, infusing my own playful personality into my work. I work mainly with acrylics, which I adore for their intensity and versatility. I paint with bright colours, bold lines and experiment with juxtaposition of colors, shapes, patterns and perspectives.
