WIP - Starting my new painting

Finally, back to work in my studio after a long break and I started working on my Tiger painting. Completed my drawing on canvas which is always the part I dislike, but you have to do it. I transfer my sketch onto the bigger canvas using the grid method where I draw grid lines on the sketch and canvas which help keeps perspective when drawing the composition onto larger area. Next, the fun part, when I will be blocking in the colour. Wishing you all a nice day.

I hope everyone is having a good week. Well, I finally got back to work in my studio, varnishing and I did did some sketches for my next painting. I felt like doing something different. So, I decided since I love Tigers, I was going to paint one lying on my sofa..lol Here is my final sketch for my painting. Next step to draw on canvas and block in the colours. Finally...Fresh off my Easel! Took some fast pics with my phone of my new painting of Provence to share with you all. It was nice painting this one, daydreaming of our past vacations in Provence visiting the beautiful villages and enjoying the beautiful Rosé wines of the area. My new painting "Rosé Days in Provence" will be photographed professionally and soon be available as Fine Art Prints, etc.

Hi Everyone! Happy June 1st. I cant believe it is already the month of June. Where the heck did May go?..lol. We are also finally having some great weather here. Well, I finally finished my little beach house painting and I am very please with it.  Here are a few pics I snapped quickly today with my phone to share of my new painting.   High resolution quality pictures to be taken soon for fine art prints, card, etc. and will be available soon in the market place. My new sketch "Colors of Saint Tropez" for my next painting.  Added some color in pastels to my Saint Tropez sketch.  Adding color to my sketches, always helps me to see it come alive and plan for my painting. Next step to put it on canvas Have a great night everyone.

I decided to paint one of my fav destinations in France. I just love to travel to Provence and the Cote D'Azur area and Saint Tropez is a wonderful place I always visit.   

New Painting "Colours of Prague" Charles Bridge

Finished my " Colours of Prague" Charles Bridge painting. Although Smaller than my usual size (30x40 cm) the painting composition makes a big impact :) Painting all done with small brushes. Pleased with the results. Fine Art Prints, cards, etc. will soon be available in the market place.

Added some colour to my fast sketch for my next painting of the famous majestic Charles Bridge in beautiful Prague, Czech Republic.   This step is very important for me and my creative process to see which colours I will use, etc. The next step I will begin my drawing on a gallery wrapped canvas. New Painting Idea, Montreal my hometown

Hi Everyone, Busy past few days working on a new painting idea; here is my study for my next painting. This time I am painting a scene from my hometown of Montreal.

"Party sur le Plateau"

The exact spot of where these beautiful colorful Victorian houses reside is on Rue Square /Carré Saint-Louis / at the corner of Henri Julien in the lovely Plateau Montreal across from the park. There are also many other of these lovely Victorian houses and brownstone on all of the lovely streets you mentioned above. When I lived nearby on Jeanne Mance at La Cite many many years ago I would love to go for walks here in this trendy little neighborhood le Plateau-Mont-Royal! Wishing you all a great day!

Fasnacht Basel "Carnival" WIP started

Finally had some time to start my Basel "Carnival" Fasnacht painting. Part 3 finally finished my drawing on the canvas. The most difficult part of the painting in my opinion. It turned out well and I am very pleased. Now its time to start blocking in some colour. Next step of the painting process.

First step, prepared canvas and grid lines: Very helpful  in order to draw from a small composition to a bigger one. (Like this 40 x 50 cm) canvas

Drawing Completed: Took me roughly 3.5 hours

  

Colour added to my Basel Fasnacht/carnival Sketch

Finally had some time and added some colour to my Fasnacht Sketch. I am very pleased with it Now it's time to draw it on the canvas and start the painting process. If you have noticed, I changed one of the Harlequins for a Pierrot costume (far right) as I realized I had already 2 Harlequins in the painting. So now I have a Waggis, 2 Harlequins, Ueli, and a Pierrot Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Working on a new painting idea. In honour and memory of the wonderful Basel Fasnacht which again will not be happening this year. I feel badly for all the Fasnacht organizers and attendees. Here is my rough sketch. Time to add some colour now.
