Busy Week & a new WIP - Provence Landscape

Hi Everyone, Hope you are having a creative week. I have been quite busy this week. I varnished and framed my little poppy painting. Oh and great news. I sold my Orange Passion painting at the gallery.

Tuscan Poppies II Framed - 25 x 50 cm

Orange Passion 40 x 40 cm SOLD

Then I started a new painting yesterday- a landscape scene of beautiful Provence, France. I have decided to do a WIP of this one:

Here is my drawing on canvas - a little messy but it gives me my base
Blocking in some colour now

Almost all the colour is blocked in now. Just need to add some light greens and the provence blue for the windows and doors. Then my favourite part of the painting begins, where it starts to come alive when I add definition, lights, darks, etc...Stay tuned

Latest Painting - Maritime Special

Hi Everyone, I have been busy these days getting paintings, varnishings and framing done for the next Summer hanging on June 22nd at the Galerie de la Rive. Artwork which has been on display since March at the Gallery will be replaced with a totally new exhibition. I will be showing some new works during this period. The Official Vernisage will take place the weekend of August 22/23, 2009. If you have not seen my Funky Floral Series, take the opportunity to visit the gallery before the 22nd of June.

I just finished one today and it really makes me happy this little painting. It's all about Summer, the beautiful Maritimes. It makes me want to jump in this painting and go away on vacation and have some yummy lobster. The painting will also be framed in a silver wood box floating frame just like the one I framed my rainbow regatta in.

Framing

Hi Everyone, TGIF! As I am writing this post my younger sister Mary is in the hospital and started labour. She went in this morning and was induced, so the labour has started and it won't be too long now till the little baby is born. I can hardly wait to be an auntie and Godmother! We dont know the sex of the baby yet, so perhaps you would like to make a wish!

I also framed my Tuscany Poppies Painting and it is hanging in the front entrace of our home. I really like it there. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Hi Everyone, Yesterday was a beautiful day here so I went for a nice long walk. Then I did some framing and worked on my poppy painting.

I framed my wild medley painting. Framing always just completes a painting:
