Happy Halloween

Hi everyone, just wanted to wish you all a Very Happy Halloween!

WIP UPDATE: I have pretty much finished my stems and flowers on my Autmumn Bloom painting. I used some Paynes grey, white and Prussian blue for my flowers. I will now do the centres and polish off the background. Hoping to be finished today or tomorrow.

I was also very thrilled this morning to see some of my paintings at Art.com and Allposters.com! These are the paintings that sold the most at the old sister site: Sistino.
All my art work can be found now at the very new affiliate Artist Rising.com. I am hoping in the future more of my art work can be found at Art.com

Autumn Bloom WIP Update 2

Hi everyone, well I did my work on my painting this morning. I outlined and blocked in the whites for the flowers. I am calling it a day. I need to get some groceries. I have a very good friend from Switzerland arriving tomorrow for the weekend, so I wont be working on this painting till next week. At which time the fun part of painting begins when I start my modeling work on the composition and it comes to life. Wishing you all a wonderful upcoming weekend.

Autumn Bloom WIP Update

Hi everyone managed to do some work today on my new floral painting. The painting will be entitled "Autumn Bloom".

So I have blocked in color for the background (burnt umber, burnt sienna, napthol light red, indian red, yellow ochre and cad yellow med.) and green stems (light pathlo green and some lemon yellow). Next I will do an outline and then block in some white for the flowers. It is slowly coming together.

New floral idea on a long canvas

Hi everyone, I finally found some time to get some work done in my studio on my new painting project. This painting will be for our new home and painted on a long canvas 35 x 120 cm.

I am thinking lots of nice earthy fall colours (red, beige, browns) with some bright light green stems and pretty white ornithogalum ( chincherinchee) flowers

A cropped pic of the flowers.
My proposed colour scheme and my rough sketch with the fall colours I will be using.

Back from Canada!

Hi Everyone, We are finally back home in Copenhagen after a beautiful, busy trip to Canada. I am slowly getting back to my daily routine but unfortunately caught a bad cold coming over. We had a wonderful vacation and the weather was just gorgeous--a real Indian summer with all the trees changing colour. The big event of our trip was my sister’s wedding, which was just amazing and she looked so beautiful and radiant. My new brother-in-law Martin was also dashing! I am so happy for them both!

I also celebrated my big 40th birthday with my close friends and family, and had my first Thanksgiving back in Canada in 12 years with yummy turkey and all the trimmings.

I hope you all have been doing well and creating lots of wonderful art work. I managed to do a few sketches over the weekend which I think I will pursue as some paintings. I am off to visit all your blogs! In the meantime, I wish you all a great week!
