One of my many favourite things from living in beautiful South Africa. The stunning Protea flower is so interesting and beautiful. I would buy them often for my home.
Welcome to my Studio Blog
I love to travel, see new places and meet new people. I love to create bold colourful paintings, many of them based on my wonderful travels.

Save the Elephants & All the Animals
I am so disgusted & devastated by Trump & US lifting the ban to import elephant trophies into the USA! How can this be happening!??! Save the Elephants & All the beautiful African animals. Senseless terrible killing! A painting I did while living in amazing South Africa in honour of all the animals! Please stop the killing #elephantsagainsttrump #SaveTheElephants #humanesocietyinternational #SouthAfrica, #Africa

Cape Town Painting WIP Continues
Hi Everyone, Its
been a week or so since I worked on my Cape Town painting. I had a bad cold and I
had to completely redo my webpage which was a huge task.
So now finally the past few days I was back at it and painted quite
a bit and got lots of work done today. WIP #13, 14
& 15 to share: just about done with
all the buildings and detail. Few more things to do, then I will work on the
water and the mountains. Its finally coming together.

WIP 1 - Cape Town Painting
Hi everyone, Did some work in my studio today. First I outlined a grid on my sketch first. I wasn't sure I thought about adding in another boat (a sailboat in the forefront along the dock) Added one in roughly in red and for a visual test work. After seeing this example, I don't think this will be a good addition to my painting. It will crowd the front and and take away from my boats/and buildings in back. I will not be adding this other sailboat.
Then I prepared my grid on my Canvas for the layout of the drawing. Now Finished my charcoal drawing on my canvas. The worse is done! lol. I will now outline and fix some areas. Then start to block in colour hopefully today or it will be tomorrow. Have a great day.

More Sketching Cape Town painting idea
Hi Everyone, More sketching today. Here is what I am going to go with...I think... lol. I might change my mind. Another scene from "Cape Town - V&A Waterfront with view of Table Moutain" I will try and add some colour tomorrow and then hopefully I can start doing the drawing on the canvas which I is the part I hate! lol

Valentine's Long Weekend at The Lost Palace Hotel, Pileansburg
Some of you might be interested in seeing some photos of this unique hotel and also remember this hotel from the movie Blended with Adman Sandler. the last time I was at the hotel was two years ago in January 2014. It truly took my breath away.
From my visit to the hotel which is like an art piece in itself with all the beautiful fabrics, decorations, materials, architecture, etc. I was totally inspired to paint my Colours of Africa Safari Painting. I had to do a return visit to see this beautiful hotel again.
Now its time to get back to work and finish my Cassis Provence Painting. Have a great day
