Monterosso WIP Continues

Hi Everyone, Have been working on my new Monterosso painting.  I would have liked to have been more advanced with the painting, but I have been busy with some other projects.  In the mean time, I have started blocking in quite a bit of colour, still need to do more and a second/third coat in some places before I begin my modeling/definition work.

Started blocking in some colour, grey tones and some definition to the big rock.

Enjoying the painting...More colour added, and some more definition on the big rock. Decided to remove the awkward beach chairs in the comp's foreground - not really necessary in the composition. Hope to get lots more done tomorrow and more hopefully this week. Also busy doing marketing work and planning a birthday dinner/weekend for my father in law.

Blocked in some more colour here and there.

Would have like to be more advanced then this right now.  Was only able to bock in a bit more colour today and a second/third coat on the buildings, sand.   Had to also give a second coat to the umbrellas..Pic looks a little dark now..but they will be warmed up and given some green stripes...Staying playing with their shapes.  They will be like the umbrellas in my ref pic/the typical Italian Riviera ones

I am very happy to announce that I received notification last week that my painting "A Night at Fenice" was accepted by the Jury committee for the upcoming February 20th show at the Shenkman Gallery. This exhibition "A Night at the Theatre" will be held from February 17 to March 22, 2011.
